How to Measure Your Graphic T-Shirt

Finding the right size when shopping for graphic t-shirts can be challenging. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll walk you through the essential steps to help you choose the perfect fit for both comfort and style. Whether you’re measuring an existing t-shirt or determining your torso size, we’ve got you covered.

Measuring a T-Shirt

One of the easiest ways to find the right size for your new graphic t-shirt is by measuring a t-shirt you already own that fits well.
Here’s a simple step-by-step process:

  • Length (A): Start by measuring from the top of the right collar down to the bottom hem. This will help you determine the ideal length for your new graphic tee.
  • Width (B): Measure one inch below the armpit from side seam to side seam. This will give you the shirt’s width, ensuring it fits comfortably across your chest and shoulders.
  • Sleeve (C): Measure from the top shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve. This will help you find the right sleeve length for your graphic t-shirt.

Measuring Your Torso Size for a Tee

If you don’t have a well-fitting t-shirt to measure, you can take your own body measurements to find the right size for your new graphic t-shirt. Stand up straight with your shoulders back and head facing forward. Good posture will give you more accurate results. Keep your feet flat, shoulders back, and chin level with your eyes looking ahead.

  • Width: Wrap a tape measure around the fullest part of your chest. To find this spot, look down and see where your chest protrudes the most. Wrap the tape around your chest until it meets at the front, and note down your measurement. If you wear a bra, keep it on while measuring.
  • Length: Measure from the base of your neck to the top of your hips. It’s helpful to have a friend assist you. Position the tape measure at the bottom of your neck between your shoulders, then extend it down to the top of your hips and record your torso length.
